My name’s Vic Lovisa, and I’m glad you are here.

From record players, to cassettes, to CDs, to mp3s……..music has always been a constant in my life. Growing up with two brothers quite a bit older than me, my childhood had somewhat of an only-child feel to it. Music was often my companion.

In my young years I was exposed to the music my brothers and their friends were listening to; mostly late 70s and 80s hard rock and metal bands. By my teenage years I discovered Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and Cream.

Next came the Seattle Revolution. I became consumed with the music of Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains in the latter high school years and early college years. College life, and the new friends I made exposed me to more music, including New Wave era, Early Roots rock, etc.

I’ve created rocktakes.com to share some of my music love with you. Opinions on bands….albums….eras….songs…..”what-could-haves”……”what-never-weres”…..great concert memories…….and just about anything else.
